We couldn't do it
without them.
Our volunteer staff members are an integral part of the mission at Camp
Gray. They run our facilitated programs during the school year including
Environmental Stewardship and confirmation retreats, they write the weekly email
devotions, they assist us in the office with camp administration, and help us
develop new programs. We are in their debt. Below are pictures and bios of our
volunteer staff for the 2006-2007 season.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer program specialist at Camp Gray, please visit our Volunteer Program page or call our Program Director at 1-800-711-4729. You can apply to be a Camp Gray Program Specialist using our Online Volunteer Application >>
| Christopher Clyde Aderhold
comes
to Camp Gray all the way from Oklahoma. (OK!) He attended Oklahoma State
University and received his degree in Marketing. Chris was a counselor
here on main camp as well as a wilderness programs counselor over the past
two summers. His interests include: playing sports, hiking, canoeing,
sipping on bottomless coffee with cream and sugar at Panera Bread in the
company of fine people, and completing long road trips. (He once spent a
week driving to Alaska.) "Nothing
happens unless first we dream." |

Pat Andera
joins us from Brookings,
South Dakota where he attended South Dakota State University. He has been
a long-time summer staff member here at camp (serving as a counselor,
assistant cook, and operations assistant among other roles) and we are
very excited to have him here throughout the school year. Pat is working
this year as the Administrative Assistant, a huge help to the folks here
in the office. During his free time, Pat enjoys watching and/or playing
sports (and being quite competitive at it) and listening to music. Pat
also has a talent for coordinating theme weeks during the summer.
"Some people want it to
happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." |
| Tim Chaptman is
from Oregon, Wisconsin and has been a camper and summer staff member here
for many years. He is taking a break from his studies at Luther College
(majoring in Biology and Political Science) to serve the year here at Camp
Gray. Timmy is a man of many interests including: running, backpacking,
tossing the frisbee, cooking, sports, and enjoying nature. Tim has a deep
and profound knowledge of trees, which will come in handy as he leads his
Environmental Stewardship hikes this year.
"We must be the change
we wish to see in the world" |

Jules Launi
hails from
Charlottesville, Virginia (Yeah, Virginia!) and recently graduated from
Mount Saint Mary's University (Go Mountaineers!) earning her degree in
Theology. Jules has been a staff member here for two summers, serving as a
counselor and the ministry specialist. During her free time, she enjoys
reading, letting people make fun of her (she gives it back with the best
of them), praying, throwing impromptu dance parties, asking burning
questions, and being goofy from time to time. Jules manages to do all this
despite the fact that she doesn't even have a middle name. (She's such a
little trooper!)
"Do not grow slack in zeal; be fervent in spirit -
serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in
prayer!" |
| Rachel Maxwell
is is from Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of
Dayton with a degree in Communications (and a minor in English.) She lives
by the credo that "good tunes, good people, and good weather all always
equals good times." She enjoys spending time in God's creation,
spontaneous adventures and roadtrips, and doing her part to sustain the
environment. Future plans include: learning how to dive, winning a lot of
game shows, and traveling the globe.
"There's nowhere you
can be that isn't where you're meant to be." |

| Theresa Wilks
(or as she is sometimes know around
here - Mo-T) comes to us from all the way from Mechanicville, New York.
She graduated in May of 2007 from St. Thomas Aquinas College, after
majoring in both Religious Studies and Philosophy. Mo-T enjoys playing
guitar, reading, learning how to ski, making people laugh, and
competition. She also has a passion for ministry. In fact, her ministry is
not just limited to this continent. . .she went on a mission trip to
Africa and sponsors a 12 year old girl who she met there. (They played
basketball together, which happens to be the quickest way to Mo-T's
heart.)
"Do not ask me to
abandon you. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people and your God my God." |
