We couldn't do it without them.
Our volunteer Outdoor Ministry Team members are an integral part of the mission at Camp Gray.  They run our facilitated programs during the school year including confirmation retreats and Environmental Stewardship, they write the weekly email devotions, they assist us in the office with camp administration, and help us develop new programs. We are in their debt.  Below are pictures and short bios of our volunteer staff for the 2009-2010 season.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a part of the OMT at Camp Gray, please visit our Volunteer Program page or call us at 608-356-8200. You can apply to be a part of the Camp Gray Outdoor Ministry Team using our Online Volunteer Application >>

Amanda Boshell is no stranger to the 225 breathtaking acres that make up the holy ground of Camp Gray.  Along with being a long time camper here at camp, she also served on the kitchen crew as a part of our summer staff back in 2005!  While Amanda hails from nearby Lodi, WI, she attended Northern Michigan University where she earned a degree in Physical Geography (oftentimes this major is thought to be the study of state capitals, but on the contrary, Physical geography is that branch of science which deals with the study of processes and patterns in the natural environment like atmosphere, biosphere and geosphere (yes, this means Amanda is going to rock our Environmental retreats!)).

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
- Mahatma Gandhi

What a developed O horizon!

Chris Briggs of Richfield, WI, counts as one of his greatest life accomplishments the opportunity to compete on the exciting television show, "The American Gladiators."  Unfortunately, a broken leg on the 'Eliminator' prevented him from bringing home the coveted American Gladiator gold medal.  Another of Chris' talents is making up really good stories about himself.  Speaking of Chris' talents, he is a successful juggler, photographer, and laugher, all of which will go far in him dominating retreats over the course of the next 9 months!

"Choose Joy"
- Gary Chadwick Bailey

Kevin Cannon - a rookie to the Camp Gray scene - hails from the UFO capital of the east; Pine Bush, New York!  When Kevin isn't ripping up the floor with his mad fiddle playing skills, he enjoys sitting in gardens and pondering all things cultivated.  Also, Kevin enjoys hiking and grooving to Jamaican music - past and present.  Kevin is a graduate of the State University of New York - New Paltz (Go Hawks!), and worked hard to earn himself a degree in Linguistics.  We're certainly excited to see Kevin in action this year!

"Consider the lilies of the field..."
- Jesus (Matthew 6:28)

Renata Kingsbury may be new to Camp Gray, but she isn't new to living in the woods, as Renata comes to us all the way from Warroad, MN (home of the 1978 Minnesota high school state champion football team - Go Warriors!).  Hunting, fishing, and watching sports can be counted as some of Rentata's favorite pastimes, and when she isn't participating in these hobbies, she can usually be found reading a good book.

"Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day.  There are only so many tomorrows."
- Pope Paul VI

Pat Schindhelm  who attributes his success as a human to a high consumption of both bacon and coffee (see photo), comes to camp all the way from Madison, WI!  Pat graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Clap & Point in 2008 with degrees in Marketing and Economics.  After graduating from college, and before joining us at camp, he spent a year as a lawn gnome salesman (which is my guess as to why there is a lawn gnome currently in the Camp Gray office).  When Pat isn't impacting the lives of children at Camp Gray, he enjoys watching and playing sports, and is always in the mood for a good book.

"A wealthy man is not one who has the most, but rather someone who needs the least."
- Jason Hedger
