Frequently Asked Questions
Can I register by phone?
Unfortunately no. We need written documentation complete with parent signature to process your application. You may fax your application to us (608-356-5855,) however, and the deposit and original application must be received within three days of fax to secure your registration.
Is it possible to get a refund?
The full amount paid will be refunded if a camper cannot be placed in the session of his/her choice. The $100 deposit cannot be refunded only after registration is confirmed in a program. The balance of fees paid will be refunded if a camper cannot attend due to injury or illness. In all other instances, no refund of camp fees will be given unless notice of cancellation is given to camp at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the camper's session. A prorated portion of the fee will be refunded if the camper is sent home from camp due to illness or injury. If a camper leaves early due to homesickness, disciplinary reasons, or parent request, no refund will be given.
What time is check-in? What time do I pick my child up?
Check-in typically runs from 3:00 through 4:15 on the Sunday of your child's session. On Friday, the last day of the session, our parent program begins at 4:45. This is the start of our normal check-out time.
Are discounts available?
Yes. If you pay the camper fee in full before February 1, 2005, you will receive a $15 discount per child.
Can my child bunk with a friend?
Camp Gray will honor up to two cabin mate requests. Please indicate requests for cabin mates on the registration form. For girls this is especially important to note on the application because cabin groups are split between two rooms in the girls lodging facility. (Please note that cabin mate requests will only be honored if both campers are in the same age group and program, and independently register for the same session before it fills.)
Is financial aid available?
Yes, financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is based on need. If you are requesting financial assistance from Camp Gray you must complete and return the Scholarship Application form which we will send upon receipt of your application. (You can call and request one beforehand.) Amount will be determined upon further consultation with Camp Gray staff. Regardless of financial need, if you are a policyholder of Catholic Family Life Insurance, call Joyce Mackovic at (800) 227-2354 ext. 280 for information about summer camp scholarship programs. If you are a policyholder or Catholic Knights, please call Mike Stivoric at (800) 927-2547.
