Is there a minimum requirement to rent the retreat center?

• Yes, there is a 25 person minimum to rent the retreat center.  St.Raphael's or St. Peter/Paul bunkhouses are available for smaller groups.

How many beds are in the retreat center?

• During the winter months the retreat center holds 75, and in the summer it holds 70.

What kind of beds are in the retreat center?

• All of the beds at Camp Gray are twin size beds. Most of the beds in the retreat center are bunked though there are a few single beds.

Should we bring our own bedding?

• Most of our groups bring their own sleeping bags or sheets/blankets, pillows, etc.  If needed, we can supply a minimal amount of bedding for a small charge.

Do you have indoor plumbing? (we are asked this frequently.)

• Yes, we have  indoor plumbing is in two of our buildings (the Retreat Center and the Bunkhouse, plus we have Moses shower house, which is behind the dining hall. St. John's (open during summer only) is located by St. Patrick and William cabins.

Do you have TV/DVD/VCR equipment?

• Yes. We have this equipment in the common room of the lodges and in the St. Joseph Hall (chapel) meeting space.

Can we fish in the pond? 

• You're more than welcome to fish.  Our pond is stocked with large and small mouth bass, blue gill, sunfish and other panfish.  Our pond is catch and release.  The fish really like tasty worms and minnows. Please bring your own equipment.

What kind of food do you serve?

• You name it! We try to accommodate all tastes.  It maybe chicken, grilled burgers and brats or spaghetti.  We are open for ideas for your group. Our cooks are very creative and will try to do their best to meet your needs.  We also can supply your group with snacks and of course s'more supplies.

What telephone number can we give parents when our group is at camp for a retreat?

• Our after-hours emergency cell phone number is (608) 963-8959.  A Camp Gray staff member has the phone with them all weekend.  The office phone is not answered on the weekends or evenings.

Do you offer horseback riding?

• Wagons West Riding Stables is located here at Camp Gray for your riding needs.  Please call them at 608-356-3556 for more info and reservations, or please give Tricia a call at Camp Gray (800) 711-4729.

What do we pack for a weekend at Camp Gray?

• It depends on the weather. We would suggest bringing appropriate clothing, toiletry items, towel/wash clothe, bedding, rain gear, tennis shoes. For warmer weather we recommend bringing sandals, a swimsuit, and a beach towel during the summer.

Are the buildings air conditioned?

• No, our buildings are not air conditioned. We do provide fans in all buildings.
